Ear Candy Thru the Eyes of Jon Bibbs

Last night Gypsy Soul & Media Minds presented the second season of Ear Candy with the Coors Light Music Lounge with Melanie Fiona, Jon Bibbs, & Lydia Caesar.

We are always interested in feedback from the artists we love and work hard to promote their music and art. Check out Jon Bibbs recap that he posted on his JB LIVE site:

Ear Candy was an amazing experience. Having been in the independent music world since 2001, I can honestly say it was one of the best organized and executed events I've experienced. Big shouts out to Kayenecha and the Gypsy Soul Crew for a well put together and programmed event.
Upon arrival, and just after set-up, I was whisked away to a lovely upstairs lounge for a series of very engaging interviews and a couple of mini photo-shoots by press persons from around Baltimore and the greater DMV area. This was refreshing experience! So many times, we artists and/or our staff persons have to establish press connections. It was wonderful to do an event where a press apparatus were already in place. This saved me and the team a bunch of work! lol

Everything with this event was managed perfectly. The show moved along like clock-work. Lydia Caesar started the show off with a great energetic performance. Immediately I was struck by her lovely voice. She captivated the crowd and made a great connection with the audience. I really enjoyed her performance and look forward to seeing her full show presentation. While Lydia was on stage, I began my live stream here on JB Live.

Several folks came through and hung out, check out parts of Lydia's show and chatted with us. Shouts out to Tracy from On the Verge, Sweetlocs from Briclyn Entertainment, Mira, Will and all the others who came through to hang out. After the video stream, I went on stage. I really enjoyed sharing my songs in a different format. I'm still growing into these acoustic performances.
Its a relatively new area of my performance career that I'm having fun exploring. The last act of the night was the lovely Ms. Melanie Fiona. She and her background vocalists put on a great performance! Polished and refined, it was very clear that Ms. Melanie is ready for center stage! Big things are in store for her.

When all of the music was through, all three of us sat down to answer questions from the audience. In all, we fielded nine very poignant questions spanning subjects from vocal pedagogy to artistic identity. Finally there was the end of the night photo session, and a video interview for an internet television station.

Please help Gypsy Soul continue to highlight great artists! Your support of the events lets us know that supporting good music is important to you!!

Healing through Harmony

with Green Tea

The night of Thursday, October 1 was chilly but Eden's Lounge had a bed of warmth. The music was remarkable, David James with N'delible and Green Tea both sounded hot and did it big on stage and was brought to us by James Collins.

The energy that David brought to the stage was the perfect platform that set a feel-cool, feel-good, and feel-blessed vibe that grew throughout the night.

Green Tea comes from the fact that, the herbal nutrient is good for you and so is her music. She is a funny down-to-earth individual, with a beautiful voice, who is not obsessed with the fame and fortune, like a lot of singers, but just blessed to share her music. She said she wants her music to inspire and hit home in peoples lives.

"I want to help people grow , learn, heal and bring a balance to music".

Green Tea came out ready, clear voice and all. Beginning with some slick renditions of Michael Jackson classic, to an overwhelming end cap of her personal songs, the true definition of purposeful music.

Driven by her family and now working on her second album, her voice is sure to fill the sounds of everyone's households. Overall it was a nice night, and I loved the music!

Check out an interview of Green Tea coordinated by Gypsy Soul with Zea of 1bluvision.com:

BTW, CONGRATS Green Tea for your Soul Tracks Nomination!!! Gypsy Soul is crossing our fingers for you!

The Delicate Flower

The Delicate Flower is written by Shakeia Cowan. Shakeia explains what a delicate flower really is, the Delicate Flower is a tool used for self healing through encouragement and affirming one’s self through the power of journaling. The Delicate Flower is composed of chapters that arranged from short stories, affirmations, and poetry to assist you in identifying, confronting, and healing from a variety of life challenges.

After reading this book, I have a new aspect on life. "The Dream, No, The Reality" really spoke to me and how I conduct my relationships with people. Cowan brings up alot of important questions such as "Do you deal with it or do you bury it? Do you allow yourself to feel, to process, to understand that this finding could possibly be the missing piece that you’ve needed to solve the puzzle to heal mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and physically?"

Other chapters such as, "And Yet I..." which is poem about strength and having the will to keep going no matter what problems you may have.

"There are days I am weary and my nights are filled with tears
Yet I get the strength to keep going", really inspire me to stay strong and finish my mission in life.

This book speaks to all women who have struggles, who suffer from different types of pain. Shakeia Cowan really is an inspiration to women that need guidance and self healing. I really enjoyed myself while reading the The Delicate Flower.

You can purchase The Delicate Flower by visiting the website: www.thedelicateflowerbook.com. Shakeia Cowan will also be doing a book signing in Baltimore on 10.09.09 at 6pm-9pm at Clutch Lounge in Baltimore!
